Characters Hub

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a single-player story about a small valley and a smaller calendar. You play Coen, a silver miner whose failed conversion left him a Dawnwalker: human under the sun, vampire after dusk. His family sits in Brencis’s castle as hostages for a princely investiture thirty days away. Between those two poles sit allies who can shorten the path to Greifberg, split the rebellion, or spend a night you cannot get back.

This hub is the roster map. Read the people before you spend a shrine on a skill tree. A conversation with Anca, a raid on Ambrus’s warehouses, or a hunt with Lacra all move the same hourglass that feeding and day and night also spend. Character pages here explain who you are bargaining with; the map explains where they live.

Pages in this hub

  • Coen the Dawnwalker — argyria, dual kits, blood hunger, infamy, and the family the court thinks it already owns.
  • Brencis and the vampire court — the former Roman senator, officers Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe, and how disrupting their territories changes the final confrontation.
  • Allies, family, and romance — Anca, Lacra, Marat, the three romance options, and why most of the family is seen at the start and the end.

How the roster spends your month

Vale Sangora in 1347 is not a theme-park map of icons. Svartrau, Laslea, and Greifberg Castle are occupied ground. Uriash ram-like warriors hold villages for the Vrakhiri. Blood-tax warehouses, Greek-rite shrines, and Central Asian war camps belong to named officers, not generic raid bosses. When you cut an officer’s supply or kill their lieutenants, the valley does not cheer; it tightens. Aggression rises, patrols change, and the later meeting with Brencis remembers what you did to his court.

Allies are not a party you drag through dungeons. There is no second player and no guest hero. Anca, Lacra, and Marat are people with jobs in the valley. Helping them is a quest with a listed duration. Romancing them spends time segments the same way a shrine level-up does. If you treat a romance as free flavor text, you will arrive at the coronation under-leveled or late. The build planner is for kits; the people pages are for deciding whose hourglass you can afford.

Dual kits, hunger, and the court

Coen’s sword is always in his hand. Witchcraft lives in the rune scars Anca carved; those hexes work in daylight and fade when the scars heal at night. Claws and Shadowstep belong to the vampire hours. The sun does not burn him, which is why Brencis’s people believe the conversion killed him. Hunger still does. A starved bite can delete a quest giver you needed for Marat’s rebellion. Infamy with the court is a second meter: too loud in Svartrau and the Vrakhiri stop treating you as a corpse and start treating you as a problem. Pair this hub with the Witchcraft, Swordmastery, and Vampirism lists so the person you are playing matches the kit you actually unlocked.

How to use these pages

Start with Coen if you want the protagonist’s body, family, and day-night rules. Read Brencis before you pick an officer to harass. Read allies before you promise Anca an evening or Marat a raid. Then go back to getting started and the time system so the roster and the calendar point at the same coronation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Who is the playable character?

You play Coen, a young silver miner from Laslea who becomes a Dawnwalker after a failed vampire conversion. The campaign is single-player.

Who are the main antagonists?

Brencis, a centuries-old former Roman senator, leads the Vrakhiri clan that seized Vale Sangora. His officers Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe each hold a territory. Disrupting them changes the later confrontation.

Who can I romance?

There are three romance options. Hands-on coverage has pointed at Anca, the village healer and witch. Romance spends time segments; it is not a free extra scene. Details sit on the allies page.

Does Coen's family travel with him?

No. The family is held for Brencis's investiture as Prince. You see them most clearly at the start and at the end of the thirty days.

Is this a multiplayer roster?

No. The Blood of Dawnwalker is a single-player action RPG. Allies are story partners, not guest-controlled heroes.
