The Blood of Dawnwalker Day/night build planner

Three trees, two bars, three starter kits. The shrine does not refund a noon claw.

Build Planner

Fill this sheet before a wayside shrine, not after the node is already yellow. The Blood of Dawnwalker gives Coen three trees that do not share a sun: Witchcraft is day only, Vampirism is night only, Swordmastery is the 24-hour glue. You start with three ability slots. This planner still uses a 4 day + 4 night grid because later slots open and because the two bars are separate kits, not eight powers you press at once.

Ranks and caveats live on the Builds Hub. Segments live on the time planner. This page is the bar.

The 4+4 sheet

Copy the grid. Pencil only powers you own or will own this week. Empty is allowed. Empty is better than a night-only icon on a morning bar.

Legal occupants

TreeDay barNight barResource
Witchcraft hexesYesNo — scars heal, hexes dieHealth or red charges
SwordmasteryYesYesStamina and gold charges for executions
VampirismNoYesHealth / corruption; skips the charge meter

You cannot press Ravenous Flock at midnight. You cannot press Voracious Bite at noon. You can press Acrid Dust in both sentences. That is the entire planner.

Gate check before you spend a segment

Run this list in order. If you fail a line, walk away from the shrine.

  • I have the manual (hex or steel) or the corruption gate (vampire node).
  • I can pay XP and one time segment without breaking the time planner cap.
  • The node fires in the next half of the clock I will actually play.
  • I am not buying a night-only node during a day I still need hexes.
  • I still have room in the 3 (or 4) slots of that bar, or I know which icon I am replacing.
  • I am not buying a second crowd-control if Dust or Shriek already covers the job.
  • I have not promised myself a completionist tree. Thirty days will not fund one.

If the next four segments are daylight conversations in Laslea, the legal buys are witchcraft and swordmastery. A Shadowstep rank at 10:00 is a claw you cannot show anyone until dusk, paid with a pip you needed for Burning Blood.

Starter kit A — Witch-duelist

For players who want Anca’s hexes and a blade, and who will treat night as a feeding-plus-steel shift until claws are funded.

SlotDayNight
1Burning BloodAcrid Dust (sword)
2Ravenous FlockArtery Attack (sword)
3Acrid Dust (sword)Voracious Bite (as soon as owned)
4 laterLife LockShadowstep

Week-one shrine order: Dust or Blood first, Flock second, Bite before any wolf form. Flock wants a DoT or a busy sword so the birds retrigger. Read the witchcraft page before you invert that order.

Do not buy: Astral Communion on day 2, Mercurial Fervour before Flock, a night-only Blood Surge while your day bar still has an empty combat hex.

Starter kit B — Claw assassin

For players who will skip social daylight when they can, feed on animals, and treat noon as a sword-only obligation.

SlotDayNight
1Acrid DustVoracious Bite
2ChargeShadowstep
3Artery AttackPiercing Shriek
4 laterBurning Blood (if you bother)Blood Surge

Week-one shrine order: Bite, Shadowstep, Dust (because dusk is not guaranteed). Shriek before Surge. Surge explodes non-bosses and slaps bosses; it also bills health.

Do not buy: a fourth hex. You will not press it after dark. Do not starve; hunger can make Coen kill an NPC. The feeding page is part of this kit, not flavour.

Starter kit C — Balanced Dawnwalker

For players who want one answer in each resource language: a red dump, a gold dump, a bite, a teleport.

SlotDayNight
1Ravenous FlockVoracious Bite
2Artery AttackShadowstep
3Acrid DustAcrid Dust
4 laterLife Lock or Burning BloodPiercing Shriek or Blood Surge

Dust appears twice on purpose. It survives the swap, which is what “balanced” actually means: the 24-hour button is steel.

Week-one shrine order: Dust, Bite or Flock (pick the half you will play more this week), Shadowstep or Artery third. Do not open three trees on day 1. Open steel plus one clock-gated tree, then the other.

Fourth slot on day 2You start with threeLeave slot 4 blank until the game grants it

Charges are not mana. Fight well, fill red or gold, dump a hex or an execution. Vampire icons ignore that meter and bill the body. If your balanced bar has Flock and Bite, remember they never share a fight. They share a calendar. Pay them on different rows of the time planner.

Session header (copy this)

  • Date in Vale Sangora (1–30): ____
  • Next half I will play: day / night
  • Shrine budget this half: 0 / 1
  • Day bar 1–3: ____ / ____ / ____
  • Night bar 1–3: ____ / ____ / ____
  • Feeding plan if night: animals / planned human / none (then do not play hungry)
  • Node I am not buying: ____

Bring this header plus the combat loop and the controls layout. Then look at day and night only if you still want to press a grey icon. Grey means the other bar. The planner’s job is to make that obvious before the shrine takes a pip.

When the bars are full of icons you actually press, stop ranking. Spend the leftover segments on the family, not on a wolf form. The Tools Hub will still be here if you need the system requirements sheet after the fight.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Why does the sheet have four slots if I start with three?

Three is the launch kit. Four is the later ceiling this worksheet uses so you do not redraw the grid. Leave slot 4 blank until the game opens it.

Can I put a vampire power on the day bar "for later"?

You can own the node and still cannot press it until night. If the next segments are daylight, buying that node is a hex you did not buy. Wait.

Which starter kit should a new player take?

Witch-duelist if you like Anca and noon fights. Claw assassin if you like roofs and feeding rules. Balanced if you want one button in each colour. All three keep a sword.

Do hexes and bites share charges?

No. Hexes spend red charges. Executions spend gold. Vampire powers skip the meter and cost health or corruption. Fighting well fills the charge colours.

How many shrine segments should a build consume by day 10?

About five in the time planner example: steel glue plus one clock-gated tree. Ten-plus ranks by day 10 is how the coronation buffer dies.

Where do I check whether Flock is still S tier?

The Builds Hub. This planner does not re-rank the meta. It stops you from buying the right power at the wrong sun.
